We are in London tonight and will fly home to New York in the morning after a phenomenal trip!!! We can’t thank you enough for all your planning and hard work!
Our guide from Afritrek was Sammy, who made the trip for us. He was so friendly and was able to answer any and all questions we had. When he picked us up on our first day we did not realize we would be together for seven days…he is just marvelous! He suggested we take a side trip to Lake Naraisha, which was on the way to Lake Nakuru. We stopped at the Crescent Camp and for $50 each we went on a boat ride and had several up close encounters with hippos ( I’m attaching the video) and we had a walking safari and we able to see giraffes, zebras and wildebeest up close as well. I would definitely recommend this place!
El Serini was fine for our first night. Their gift shop was very reasonable and we wish we had purchased more there. All local art.
The Sheraton was fabulous as was Cliff Lodge is gorgous…sunrise each morning was such a treat. The tent was nassive we were in!! However they had sit down a la carte meals only and we definitely preferred the buffet style meals and the staff at Kitchwa Tembo….all so very friendly and went out of their way to please us! All the games drives but never saw a leopard or cheetah.
We said goodbye to Sammy from Afritrek at the Nairobi Sheraton after a very filling lunch at Carnivores. (We tried crocodile and ostrich!)
Victoria falls and our Zambia-Zimbabwe time was wonderful in a different way! The falls are spectacular but we felt the walking tour does not do them justice. We definitely would recommend a helicopter tour for 13 minutes which is plenty of time to see their majesty! Elephant encounter was Keri’s favorite (mine was the first encounter with the giraffes up close). We walked with them and fed them as well. Will also send you video.
Again we cannot thank you enough for all your help. I’m fact, I may have two different friends who may be contacting you for future African trips. Overall we loved every place you recommended for us and would stay again at each one.
