I’m finally getting a chance to respond! First, thank you so much for all the planning you did for us, for your patience, and for answering all our questions. Everything was so wonderful!
I feel like we spent the right amount of time in each of the locations. Our accommodations were so nice and Oliver our tour guide in Cape Town was so good. We really liked that he was with us for all the transfers and excursions in Cape Town. We liked having that consistency with him. All the transfers were seamless, as were the excursions. We are used to staying at large hotel brands like Marriott or Hilton, so the smaller boutique hotels were a new experience for us. We really enjoyed them. The room at Kensington Palace was very nice and all the staff were so welcoming. I even emailed them after the trip to get a recipe for a fresh juice they made me each morning, and it was nice of them to respond with those instructions.
Mbano Manor was also nice to stay. We hardly saw other guests so it felt like we were the only ones there. It was a little unusual feeling at times, but we still enjoyed the stay there. I’m not sure how to word this and it’s not a negative, but Mbano Manor didn’t quite have the same quality as Kensington Palace and Amaya Lodge. It was a nice stay, but just a bit different. I think it might be a very nice place for Victoria Falls, and that Victoria Falls might a location that overall is a different quality than our previous stops. The river cruise was a great excursion there and a nice way to kick off our time in Victoria Falls. I think the company you chose for us had a nicer boat than others we saw along the way, so good choice!
The highlight of our trip was definitely Amaya Safari Lodge! Oh wow was that amazing! From the moment we arrived until the time we drove off, we felt so well taken care of. Having the chef come out to speak with us at every meal was such a custom and personal touch. Every person working there from the drivers, guides, hospitality, everyone was beyond words. So knowledgeable, so welcoming, so caring. The tents were INCREDIBLE, although my husband refuses to call them tents because they were so nice. 🙂 I would absolutely HIGHLY recommend Amaya to anyone wanting to go there.
The trip was unlike other vacations we’ve done, and it was absolutely one of the most memorable. We have you to thank for helping us experience it all!
